Sunrise and Long Exposure Photography - 14th February

£60.00

Date: 14th February

Time: 6.30am - 11am

Location: Dovercourt and Brightlingsea

Workshop Details:

Join me for a 4.5 hour photography workshop exploring 2 different coastal locations Dovercourt Bay in Harwich and Brightlingsea in Essex. Plus a 1 hour zoom session on Thursday 19h February at 7pm to review and discuss images.

The workshop begins at dawn in Dovercourt Bay where we will spend some time photographing the low lighthouse as the sun comes up. The tide will be low so there will be a good range of elements to use in our foreground including wooden groynes, sand patterns and tidal pools. We will also practice long exposures for a minimalistic feel.

From Harwich we will travel 30 minutes to Brightlingsea where there will be opportunities to experiment with long exposure using the rivers edge around Batemans Tower.

We will cover:

How to shoot a sunrise (weather permitting) using filters and / or bracketing exposures.

Long exposures and the creative use of shutter speed to capture movement in water.

Composition and how to make the best of the available light.

During the zoom session we will discuss how to use Lightroom and Photoshop to get the best from your RAW files. We will discuss what can be achieved with selective adjustments using masking tools and I will share my process and talk about how I decided what adjustments to make.

The workshop includes:

A full set of notes sent out via email before the workshop.

The option to borrow a set of Lee filters if required.

4.5 hours of tuition in the field plus an hours zoom session on Thursday 19th February at 7pm. Links for this will be be sent out with the notes.
