Photography and book making workshop - Hollesley, 13th August
Date: 13th August
Time: 5 am - 3pm
Location: Hollesley Common and my studio in Hollesley
Participants: 4
Join me for a sunrise and early morning photography session on Hollesley Common. During the workshop we will be looking to create 6 images that we can process, print and turn into a small concertina book that you can take home.
Aims:
To create a small body of work that shows your vision of Hollesley Common. This can consist of landscape images, intimate scenes or detail shots and we will be discussing how to achieve all three. We will spend the first part of the session on the heath.
The second half of the day will be spent in my studio at Hollesley reviewing the images and discussing post processing. We will be looking at how to curate a small body of work. We will discuss post processing, image selection and layout for a small concertina book.
The final part of the session will involve printing and creating your concertina photo book. We will be working with 6 images, cutting and folding paper and creating a cover for our books.
I have two Macs in my studio which we can share, or you are welcome to bring your laptop if you would prefer to process on a machine you are familiar with.
The workshop includes:
A set of digital notes sent out via email before the workshop
10 hours of tuition on the heath and in my studio at Hollesley.
All the paper and equipment required to create your concertina photo book.
You will need:
A selection of lenses which will allow for wider scenes and closer detail, which may include a telephoto or macro lens.
A means of getting your images onto the Mac in my studio. The Mac will take SD cards but if you have anything different to this in your camera please bring a card reader or a cable for your camera.
Lunch / snack and drink.
You may want to bring a kneeling pad or sheet to put on the ground for close up work.
