Art of Seascape Photography - 7th March
Date: Saturday 7th March followed by a zoom session on Thursday 12th March at 7pm.
Time: 6am - 11am
Location: Southwold and Sizewell Beach
Aims of workshop: Using long exposure techniques to create minimalist seascape images. We will be working with minimal compositions to create dreamy, ethereal seascapes using a range of subjects from the pier, to groynes, rocks, marker posts, and the rigs at Sizewell. During the Zoom session we will focus on processing our images and will discuss aspect ratio, colour rendition and balance and horizon removal for a really minimal effect.
Description: Join me for a 5.5 hour workshop (4 on site plus a post processing zoom session) where we will focus on minimalism and long exposure seascapes. The workshop will begin at sunrise in Southwold where we will be working with the pier, marker posts and groynes to create minimal compositions. We will then move to Sizewell to photograph the old rigs in the sea.
The workshop will be followed by a 1.5 hour zoom session where we will discuss different processing techniques, aspect ratios, how to remove distractions and create an ethereal minimal effect.
Topics covered: Composition for minimalism, aspect ratios and long exposure techniques. During the post processing session we will look at colour harmony, balance and removing distractions including the horizon.
