Creative Macro - 14th August
Date: Friday 14th August
Time: 6.30am - 2pm
Location: Hollesley Common and my studio in Hollesley
Join me for a two part macro workshop which will be split between Hollesley Common and my studio in Hollesley.
During the workshop we will be looking for the beauty in the ordinary focusing on all the small details that we might usually overlook.
Aims:
To understand how to create artistic macro shots by shooting through foliage, using selective blur and working with colour combinations. We will be looking to create dreamy artistic images using the heather and other heathland plants by working with bokeh and shallow depths of field.
At the end of the workshop we will print one image each on A3 fine art paper.
The workshop will start just after sunrise to make the most of the early morning low light.
The second half of the day will be spent in my studio at Hollesley reviewing the images and discussing post processing. You will have the opportunity to process your favourite image from the morning session which we will then print on A3 fine art paper so that you will leave the workshop with a print from the session.
I have two Macs in my studio for your use during the workshop. We will discuss post processing and printing and then you will be working in pairs to process your favourite image for print.
The workshop includes:
A set of digital notes sent out via email before the workshop
7.5 hours of tuition on the heath and in my studio at Hollesley.
An A3 fine art print of your favourite image from the session to take home.
You will need:
A dedicated macro lens
A means of getting your images onto the Mac in my studio. The Mac will take SD cards but if you have anything different to this in your camera please bring a card reader or a cable for your camera.
Lunch / snack and drink.
You may want to bring a kneeling pad or sheet to put on the ground for your comfort.
