As a landscape photographer much of my work involves chasing the hero shot. Going out a sunrise or sunset and waiting for the perfect light to capture a perfect moment. But all too often conditions don’t work out quite how I would like and I am left feeling disappointed.

These days I find photo projects are more interesting to me. Focusing on particular subjects and spending time with them can be fascinating and more creatively challenging than chasing a single image.

I get asked about projects a lot so I thought I would put together an inspiration guide that covers all sort of mini projects from colour pairs to zines. The information is designed for inspiration purposes only and is not a detailed account of all these projects, but I hope it will be useful and inspire you to get out and create your own small photography project.
